Professor Anna Godhe is awarded the Faculty of Science Research Prize 2018

News: Sep 26, 2018

"Anna Godhe is marine ecologist and her specific expertise and research interest is molecular ecology and evolution of phytoplankton. She creates groundbreaking research that spans conventional boundaries in wide-ranging research projects, together with national and international colleagues with a very varied disciplinary background. Anna Godhe has discovered and utilizes a system where she can wake up diatoms to life from sediments that are hundreds of years old. This makes it possible to investigate living and old individuals of the same species from the same place, and compare them with regard to their impact on the environment and climate. Around this Anna Godhe has developed a vibrant and successful research environment."

The Faculty of Science Research Award distinguishes the development of a research focus that makes a significant contribution to innovation in the Faculty's research. The winner receives a diploma and a research grant of 250,000 kr.
