Poster session guidelines

Poster session guidelines

Posters should be portrait posters, maximum A0 841mm (wide) x1189mm (high)

Poster Session Schedule

Tuesday, 15 May 15:00 to 17:00

Poster Size

There will be two posters displayed side by side on each panel. Thus, each poster must be no larger than 841 mm wide x 1189 mm high. If your poster exceeds these specifications, it may be subject to removal. Posters will adhere to the boards using push pins that will be provided.

Poster Display

Each poster will be assigned a number. You will put your poster next to this number. There will be two (2) posters per side of each panel-board. Therefore posters must be no larger than the maximum (841 mm wide x 1189 mm high). If your poster exceeds these specifications, it may be subject to removal. Posters will be affixed to the panel-boards using push pins. Push pins will be available throughout the poster hall.

Poster Set Up and Teardown

Posters will be displayed in the lobby of the Strömstad Spa hotel. They will be organized in session groupings to maximize opportunities for viewing. Posters can go up Monday, 14 May, from 17:00 and will remain in place through 14:00 on Thursday, 17 May. They should be removed by Thursday, before 14:00 at the very latest or they will be discarded.

Poster Sessions

There are two designated hours for poster sessions on Tuesday, 15 May. Poster presenters with odd numbers are encouraged to be available to present their posters during the first hour and poster presenters with even numbers during the second hour to ensure maximum exposure for their research. Coffee break is scheduled during the poster sessions.

The poster session times do not conflict with concurrent oral presentations.

Poster Printing

We can not offer the possibility to print Posters at site.

Some suggestions for Poster Preparation

These are some general guidelines for preparing your poster for clarity and easy readability.

  • Limit the amount of text to convey only the essentials.
  • Emphasize presenting your data visually using photographs, figures, or tables.
  • Text should be at least 24 point in text, 36 for headings.
  • Title should be at least 5cm tall.
  • Your poster background should be a relatively uniform, neutral color so that it does not detract from your graphics and text.
  • Consider people who have problems differentiating colors, especially when designing graphics - one of the most common is an inability to tell green from red.
